Ingredients
Apple Pear Crisp Ingredients
- 5 Anjou pears or your favorite, no need to peel
- 5 Gala apples or your favorite, peeled
- ¼ C all-purpose flour
- 1/3 C cane sugar
- 1 ½ tsp. cinnamon
- ½ tsp. nutmeg
- 1 tsp. orange zest
- 1 tsp. lemon zest
- 2 T orange juice
- 2 T lemon juice
Topping Ingredients
- 1 stick salted butter
- 6 T light brown sugar
- 6 T cane sugar
- ½ C rolled oats
- ¾ tsp. pumpkin pie spice
Instructions
Apple Crisp Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Prepare a 9 x 13-inch casserole dish by spreading the bottom and sides with some butter. You could also use a cooking spray.
- Core and cut the fruit into large chunks. Place the fruit into a large mixing bowl.
- Add in the flour, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, orange and lemon zest, orange and lemon juice. Mix it all together until combined.
- Pour into the prepared casserole dish.
- Finish with your topping (recipe below).
- Place in the preheated oven on the middle rack. Bake for 50-60 minutes until the top is browned and the crisp is bubbling.
Topping Instructions
- Mix these all together in medium mixing bowl with your fingers until all is well combined. You could also put all the ingredient in a stand mixer fitted with a paddle. Mix for 1 to 2 minutes until combined.
- Note: you can top with aluminum foil is the crisp begins to brown quickly. You can also serve with whipped topping or a scoop of ice cream!
