Servings: 1.5 lb loaf

Ingredients

  • ½ C water
  • ½ C half and half
  • ¼ C honey
  • 2 T olive oil
  • 1 ½ C whole wheat flour
  • 1 ½ C bread flour
  • 1 ½ tsp. bread machine yeast
  • 1 ½ tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 C dried sweet cherries
  • 2/3 C walnuts

Instructions

  • This recipe is so simple but delicious! I always have these ingredients on hand.
  • Put the water and half and half together in one measuring cup and microwave for one minute. This will heat the mixture to lukewarm.
  • Next, add the water and half and half mixture to your bread machine bowl.
  • Next, add the honey, olive oil, whole wheat four, bread flour, bread machine yeast, kosher salt, dried cherries and walnuts.
  • Put your bowl into your bread machine, set for 1.5 lb. loaf and light or medium crust. Press start and wait for the smells to fill up your kitchen.
  • Note: Follow your bread machine manufacturer’s recommendations for proper ingredient order. I also add my dried fruit and nuts at the beginning. I don’t mind they break up a bit. If you want chunkier pieces, your machine will recommend the proper time for the fruit and nuts to be added.
