Servings: 1.5 lb loaf
Course: Bread
Cuisine: American

Ingredients

  • ½ C water
  • ½ C half and half
  • ¼ C honey
  • 2 T olive oil
  • 1 ½ C whole wheat flour
  • 1 ½ C bread flour
  • 1 ½ tsp. bread machine yeast
  • 1 ½ tsp. kosher salt
  • 1 C dried sweet cherries
  • 2/3 C walnuts

Method

  1. This recipe is so simple but delicious! I always have these ingredients on hand.
  2. Put the water and half and half together in one measuring cup and microwave for one minute. This will heat the mixture to lukewarm.
  3. Next, add the water and half and half mixture to your bread machine bowl.
  4. Next, add the honey, olive oil, whole wheat four, bread flour, bread machine yeast, kosher salt, dried cherries and walnuts.
  5. Put your bowl into your bread machine, set for 1.5 lb. loaf and light or medium crust. Press start and wait for the smells to fill up your kitchen.
  6. Note: Follow your bread machine manufacturer’s recommendations for proper ingredient order. I also add my dried fruit and nuts at the beginning. I don’t mind they break up a bit. If you want chunkier pieces, your machine will recommend the proper time for the fruit and nuts to be added.
