Instant Pot Brown Rice

Fluffy Instant Pot brown rice served in a white bowl beside an electric pressure cooker.

Instant Pot brown rice uses a simple ratio of two cups of rice to two and a half cups of water or broth, plus kosher salt. The pressure cooker handles the cooking while the rice rests for a 10-minute natural release before the remaining steam is released. The recipe makes six servings and can be made with water, chicken broth, or vegetable broth.

Stir the ingredients together in the inner pot before securing the lid. Cook on Manual High Pressure for 25 minutes, then allow the 10-minute natural release. If the rice looks wet when you open the cooker, leave it on Warm a little longer to dry out. Serve it as a side or use it as the base for another meal.
