Delicious Layered Salad

A layered salad is a colorful and visually striking dish that’s as delicious as it is beautiful. This salad is made by layering fresh, crisp vegetables, creamy dressings, and flavorful toppings in a clear dish, allowing each ingredient to shine. Common layers include lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, cheese, bacon, and peas, but you can customize it to your tastes. Perfect for potlucks, picnics, or family gatherings, a layered salad is not only easy to prepare but also a showstopper on any table.

Instructions

Salad Instructions

  • Note: I served my salad with my homemade ranch dressing. Recipe is below.
  • Preheat your oven to 400 degrees. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Place the bacon on the baking sheet and cook for 20-23 minutes until bacon is browned. Drain on a paper towel lined plate. Once cool, cut into bite sized pieces.
  • Assemble your salad in a large bowl (I used a trifle bowl).
  • Start with a layer of lettuce. Next, top with a layer of radishes. Add another layer of lettuce. Now, add a layer of peas. Top the peas with tomatoes. Top the tomatoes with cucumbers. Now, add a layer of bacon. Finally, top with a layer of feta cheese crumbles. This is such a gorgeous salad and it’s full of fiber, vitamins and minerals. Enjoy!

Ranch Dressing Instructions

  • In a large mixing bowl, add your mayo and sour cream.
  • Finely chop your parsley, cilantro, basil, chives and then add to the bowl.
  • Next, add your minced garlic, dill, salt, and black pepper.
  • Whisk this all together.
  • Add a little buttermilk at a time until you’ve reached your desired consistency. This is so good! Enjoy!
  • Note: This will last in your refrigerator up to a week. If it thickens a bit in your refrigerator, thin it out with a little more buttermilk.
