Thanksgiving Leftover Stuffed Panini

A grilled Italian bread panini filled with turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, and cheese.

Thanksgiving leftover panini turns the familiar holiday plate into a hot, crispy sandwich. Italian bread holds sliced turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, mayonnaise, and cheese; the combination brings savory, tangy, creamy, and crisp textures into each bite. The source leaves the quantities flexible, so you can size the sandwich around the leftovers you have.

A panini press makes the sandwich easy to toast, but two skillets work too: heat one and use another to press the bread. Reheating the turkey in a little gravy keeps it moist, while warming the stuffing separately in a toaster oven helps it regain some crispness before it goes into the sandwich.

Make room for the fillings

Remove a little of the soft interior from the bread before assembling the sandwich. This creates space for the turkey, stuffing, cheese, and sauces without requiring fixed measurements.

Get a crisp, melty panini

Warm the turkey in a little gravy and reheat the stuffing separately. Press the assembled sandwich in a panini press, or use a second skillet to weigh it down in a hot skillet.

Can I make this without a panini press?

Yes. The source suggests heating one skillet and pressing the sandwich with a second skillet.

How much of each ingredient should I use?

The source does not give exact amounts; build the sandwich to fit the bread and the leftovers you have.
