Homemade pizza night gets a whole lot easier with this Bread Machine Pizza Dough. Instead of mixing and kneading the dough by hand, the bread machine does the hard work for you, giving you a soft, easy-to-shape dough that's ready for your favorite pizza toppings.
It's a great recipe for anyone who's been intimidated by making pizza dough from scratch. Add the ingredients to your bread machine, select the dough cycle, and let the machine handle the mixing, kneading, and rising. When it's finished, all that's left to do is shape your crust, add the toppings, and bake.

Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ C warm water 80-90 degrees
  • 3 T Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 T honey
  • 3 ½ C bread flour
  • 2 tsp. bread machine yeast
  • 1 tsp. kosher salt

Equipment

  • Bread Machine

Method

  1. Note: I use a KBS bread machine for all my recipes. Follow your machine manufacturer’s recommendations for the order of adding your ingredients.
  2. I add my ingredients in the order listed above to the baking pan of my bread machine.
  3. Set your machine for “leavened dough” setting. This will take approximately 1 hour and 24 minutes.
  4. Once done, turn your dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Cut the dough into two equal parts. You can use the dough right away.
  5. You can also place the dough in freezer safe bags or containers with a light coating of olive oil. This will stay fresh in your freezer for up to 3 months. Take it out the night before you want to use it. It will defrost in your refrigerator.
  6. Note: If your bread machine doesn't have a “Leavened Dough” setting, use the “Raw Dough” setting. This takes about 30 minutes on our KBS bread machine. When the cycle is complete, place the dough in a bowl lightly coated with olive oil. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise in a warm area for about one hour. The dough is then ready to use.
