Servings: 10
Ingredients
- 5 lb. boneless spiral cut ham
- 1 ½ C light brown sugar
- ¾ C apple cider another ½ C to pour into the bottom of the casserole dish
- ½ C maple syrup
- 1/3 C stone ground mustard
- ½ tsp. kosher salt
- ½ tsp. ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- In a medium sized mixing bowl, add all the above ingredients (except the ham) and stir them all until combined. I would reserve ½ C or more of the glaze to serve alongside at the table.
- Place your ham in a 9 x 13 casserole dish, cut side down. I use my fingers to open some of cut slices in the ham and then brush my glaze over the ham. You want to make sure that the glaze gets into those crevices. Pour the extra ½ C apple cider around the ham). I have a probe that I place into the thickest part of the ham. Place the ham into the oven. You want the internal temperature to reach between 140-145. This will take approximately 13-15 minutes per pound. I took my ham out of the oven at 140 degrees. Tent the ham with foil and let it rest for minutes. The ham will continue to cook. It’s now ready to serve. Enjoy!
- Note: I basted the ham 2 times during the cooking process to really lacquer the glaze on. This is so delicious, and the ham stays moist.
